Publisher's Summary

A Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestseller.

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover comes a novel that explores life after tragedy and the enduring spirit of love.

When Leeds meets Layla, he’s convinced he’ll spend the rest of his life with her - until an unexpected attack leaves Layla fighting for her life. After weeks in the hospital, Layla recovers physically, but the emotional and mental scarring has altered the woman Leeds fell in love with. In order to put their relationship back on track, Leeds whisks Layla away to the bed-and-breakfast where they first met. Once they arrive, Layla’s behavior takes a bizarre turn. And that’s just one of many inexplicable occurrences.

Feeling distant from Layla, Leeds soon finds solace in Willow - another guest of the B&B with whom he forms a connection through their shared concerns. As his curiosity for Willow grows, his decision to help her find answers puts him in direct conflict with Layla’s well-being. Leeds soon realizes he has to make a choice because he can’t help both of them. But if he makes the wrong choice, it could be detrimental for all of them.

The best coho!

OH MY GOD!!! I devoured every word of this book!!!! This has jumped up to be my number 1 favourite Colleen Hoover book! I have no idea how to describe it without spoilers.

1. Leeds, a musician who is dead on the inside, falls in love with Layla, at her sister’s wedding at a B&B which he is playing at. They have the most beautiful soulmate relationship.

2. He eventually puts a selfie of them up on Insta. His literal stalker ex sees it, finds Layla. And shoots her dead. The hospital is able to revive her but she just isn’t herself and has a brain injury.

3. Leeds decides to take Layla back to the B&B where they first met to try spruik her up a bit. She’s still not herself, and randomly starts acting very strange and eating crazy amounts of food

4. It turns out that there is a spirit in the house called Willow. She uses Layla’s body to communicate with Leeds, and Leeds starts to fall in love with Willow. It starts getting a bit fucked up at this point

5. When the spirit is Layla she often doesn’t remember things like how they met. Willow however suddenly reveals something from the past and Leeds realises that Willow is THE CRAZY STALKER EX! (He shot her dead after she shot Layla)

6. He grabs Layla and tries to leave. But then he realises that since Willow CAN tell him how they first met that LAYLA IS ACTUALLY THE SPIRIT, and the crazy ex’s spirit jumped into Layla when she murdered her! (It sounds ridiculous but it’s so good! Lol)

7. Much to Leed’s dismay, they decided to kill Layla by drowning her, and then the spirit Layla tries to get back into her body so the spirit can be gone. They devise it all and Layla writes a suicide note just in case it fails so people don’t think Leeds murdered her

8. I won’t tell you if it works or not and exactly how it ends but OH MY GOD! I have not been so invested in a storyline and holding my breath so much whilst reading a book in a long time! I know it sounds like a ridiculous book but it’s written so well and there is just something about the characters, 100% recommend!
