Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Each lesson contains practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension and on learning to speak Mandarin Chinese.

A methodical way to learn a difficult language.
The course is well thought out. I was able to use some of the phrases in China when meeting people and riding in taxis. The language is hard for me and I had to listen to most of the lessons more than once, but the pimsleur method is very good.

Great course for learning Mandarin for beginners
Great for beginners or people needing a refresh. great to hear multiple people speak both male and female pronunciation which is hard to find.

Very useful as a pronunciation guide
