Einige Gefangenen ergreifen die Initiative und schaffen es unerkannt mit dem Bus des Ensembles zu fliehen. In einer Nachbarstadt Grünau werden sie als begnadete Schauspieler gefeiert. Zwei von ihnen lassen sich in dem Städtchen nieder und üben erfolgreiche Berufe aus, die die Stadt bereichern. Doch die Realität holt sie schneller ein als sie sich vorgestellt haben.
