 Nell'aprile 2017 Alitalia è di nuovo sull'orlo della bancarotta. La compagnia aerea di bandiera italiana in appena un decennio è riuscita a perdere svariati miliardi. Questo fatto non è certamente nuovo nella storia dell'azienda che nel corso degli anni ha cambiato più volte pelle, reinventandosi, ma sempre con l'aiuto del governo italiano. Sicuramente negli ultimi vent'anni sono state fatte diverse scelte sbagliate, sia da parte dei governi succedutisi sia da parte degli azionisti.

Questi innumerevoli sbagli ovviamente sono andati a pesare sulle spalle dei contribuenti italiani, che negli anni hanno versato circa sette miliardi di euro per salvare l'azienda, e sulle spalle dei dipendenti Alitalia che sono passati in dieci anni da 21mila a 11mila. Per questo motivo non c'è da stupirsi che al recente referendum aziendale i lavoratori e le lavoratrici abbiano respinto al mittente l'accordo firmato da sindacati e azienda.
