Aunque hoy dia Franz Kafka es considerado como uno de los grandes novelistas en la historia de la literatura, el mismo tenia tal cantidad de inseguridad sobre si mismo, que ordeno a su amigo y albacea Max Brod que a su muerte quemara todos sus manuscritos. Fue afortunado que Brod ignorara ese mandato y salvara para la posteridad la obra de Kafka. Este genial y unico autor supo crear un mundo de pesadilla en que las cosas suceden sin explicacion, en que los personajes se defienden de un destino que no entienden, en que hay efectos sin causas aparentes y donde todo pasa por que si.

Kafka is considered among the greatest novelists in history. His style is surprisingly clear and deeply fascinating, and The Metamorphosis is rightfully regarded a classic.
