Een van die bestes!
Mooiste storie van tye lank gelede, van Groot Voete, van hartsake, liefde, hartseer. The reality of the slaughter of the African Elephant in the 1900. Kitchen Dutch our beautiful Afrikaans language and how things where.

uitsteekende gehalte van begin tot die einde
Ek het die boek gelees om die ou taal weer te herneu. Dit het baaie herrinerings oor die bos om Knysna se wereld to die voorte gegring.

Uitstekend
Anrich Herbst het die verhaal laat lééf met sy uitstekende lees. Ek het gelag en gehuil; frustrasie, wanhoop, hoop, en vreugde ervaar; deel geword van die bos. Pure genot wat ek nie wou hê moes ophou nie.

Engaging and inspiring story
Hierdie boek het ek gelees in St 12 en het daardie tyd nie die storie verstaan en waardeer nie. Nou, 30 jaar later verstaan en kan ek die volle eerlikheid en liefde storie voel. Ek voel soos een met die Groot Voete en die bos.
