A young boy witnesses his mother's murder and it's Detective Cat Carmichael and her team who are called to investigate. With only a sketch and a blurry security video screenshot, the team quickly finds themselves struggling to come up with any leads. Meanwhile, a young girl finds her stepfather dying in his bedroom. She runs away, leaving Cat and her squad to investigate the man's death, all the while looking for his stepdaughter.
With two homicide cases involving children and a trial in which a teen girl is accused of killing her parents, the stakes are higher than ever and the squad feels the pressure to solve both cases and find a missing girl.
