 Young orphan and heir David Balfour is victimized by his miserly Uncle Ebenezer, who has him kidnapped and sold into slavery on a ship bound for the Carolinas. Whetted my appetite for a re-visit!

A bit of a savage abridgement of this classic tale of derring-do in the Highlands and Islands read many years ago, but served me well enough to seek out the complete version, this time in audio, and also the sequel Katriona, which I had not read previously.
