About this listen

Jawkers, the little monster

Most people wake up in a grumpy mood, trying to brush the sleep from their eyes as they rejoin the land of the waking. Jawkers, on the other hand, nearly jumps out of bed every morning with his eyes wide and a smile on his face. When his parents asked him why he was always so happy in the morning, he had a simple answer for them.

“I’m excited to go to school!” he shouted, before rushing into the bathroom to get ready.

“You’re excited about school?” His father had asked as Jawkers brushed his long teeth in the mirror.

“Uh-huh,” Jawkers had nodded, with toothpaste running down his chin before spitting it in the sink. As he cleaned the small horns on the top of his head, he explained, “Every day at school, I get to see my friends! Plus, Mrs. Rex is a wonderful teacher. This year, she teaches us things I never knew before.”
