Publisher's Summary
Mary "The Edge" Reynolds is the most sought-after back-office operative around - the creative genius pulling the ultimate badasses out of impossible situations. She’s never failed on a mission, and she’s not about to fail on the most important mission ever - keeping her newly designed security system safe. Relying on others isn’t in her nature, but the newly formed Arsenal is her only hope for escape when she’s kidnapped.
She is the Edge.
The Edge never breaks.
Never quits.
Dylan Mason and his brothers have put everything on the line to form The Arsenal. When the paramilitary arena is rocked by Edge’s capture, he’ll do whatever it takes to get the fearless operative back, but his wary heart isn’t ready to handle the vulnerable woman buried beneath the hardened shell. Getting her back was simple. Keeping her and her "security system" HERA out of enemy hands is another story.
Together they must hunt down the faction behind her capture and subsequent torture to keep HERA from becoming an unstoppable terroristic threat. What they uncover could destroy them both.

whole little story going on!!
first time read for me with this author and boy did she pack a lot of information into one book. the research on all the technical Ops is absolutely amazing and I'd love to know how she got all that information. for a while they're it sounded like the story was like a misfiring rifle I couldn't get my head around the amount of different subplots she had written in. the writing seems to be something very subtle and you need to concentrate or you will miss one of the many subplots bearing down on you. there's a lot of unspoken surprises that creep in to the Black Ops side and a lot of unspoken simple plot dialogue that you have to guess by putting 2 and 2 together. I think it was too much to ask one narrator to do this job there was a lot of players in this book and I think having duo or more narrator's would have made it a bit easier to concentrate on. also this book has been described as erotica. I don't believe this is the case at all I have read books like this with heavier sex scenes. Seems to me the likes of Lora Leigh and Sylvia Day are more along the lines of erotica romance. Carnes seemed to have so many stories in her mind that she tried to push them all out and keep you on your toes, however I seem to have to go back and listen again for me to get it and truly understand what she was writing. all-in-all the pace was fast the steamy seems where moderate and there was so many little problems going on that were miraculously fixed by HERA and that little Beauty was invented of course by girls, Kickass girls at that

I couldn’t stop!
Once this book started as an audio I couldn’t stop! So many twists and turns but most of all strong women who found strong men. This is book one and all I can think about is, what’s next? Cara has a way of drawing you in and making you turn to the next page and the next.
