About this listen

It’s been about a year since the zombie apocalypse swept across the globe. Journalist Michelle Santino takes on the task of finding out how the pandemic originated.

The first stop is an ivory tower in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, home of the notorious Professor Darius Albescu. He has theories–lots of them–but he needs Santino to check them out. He dispatches his learned son Florin to accompany the journalist on a wild and dangerous journey across America in search of a rogue colonel at a BSL-4 lab, a secret nanotech research facility owned by a Silicon Valley billionaire, and an eccentric mathematician who lives with two zombie teenagers aboard a Louisiana shrimp trawler.

Spread in between are zombie hives, religious zealots, military bases on high alert, utopian communities protecting the American dream, and the mysterious Orange X convoys.
