Fun grumpy-sunshine tentacle romance!
When River Sullivan and his edible munching uncle follow a suspicious-looking neighbour to a secret site outside Las Vegas, their wildest dreams about aliens are confirmed. A senior manager for the Alliance of Neutral Alien Lifeforms (ANAL), Kai Genaro has a big headache on his hands (and tentacles): River’s mind refuses to respond to the memory wipe given to all humans who stumble across ANAL Headquarters. Even worse, Kai can feel himself falling for River, despite how badly Kai’s last relationship with a human ended.
This light-hearted sci-fi romance was a lot of fun with a sort of Men in Black vibe. With an almost childish sense of humour, River has absolutely no filter and bounces around the bemused aliens like an eager puppy who has just been given the biggest bone. In contrast, Kai is measured and serious, fighting his feelings all the way, even as he unconsciously works his way through the mating rituals of his people in an effort to woo River. It’s extremely good-natured with a great world-build. Voice actor extraordinaire Greg Boudreaux does his usual excellent job on the audio. I’m so looking forward to the rest of the series!

Absolutely Brilliant!
This book is pure delight!
I absolutely adored every single thing about it. In addition, the narration by Greg Boudreaux is beyond awesome, bringing the narrated version of this magical book to life in the most outstanding way!

Very Unusaul but Enjoyable Read
Great narration, really enjoyed story. Has a HFN ending and looking forward to listening to book 2. Did not feel like a 10 hour story. It didn't drag at all. Well worth a listen if you are a Sci fi fan.

Author & Narrator are a winning combination!
10/2/23 - re-read with audio. Narrator, Greg Boudreaux, used his phenomenal skills to bring this story to life, the characters were even quirkier and the comedy even more obvious.
Chloe Archer and Greg Boudreaux are an excellent match and I hope their partnership continues.

Light hearted fun
At the the start the overexuberant River was very annoying but he did grow on me. Enjoyed this book more than I thought I would after having a few doubts in the first 30 mins. Some good laughs and excellent narration makes me think I will listen to the rest of the series if they are ever released.
