Publisher's Summary

An achingly funny story about how to be your own hero when life pulls the rug out from under your feet. From the author of the bestselling You had me at Hello.

Delia Moss isn't quite sure where she went wrong. When she proposed and discovered her boyfriend was sleeping with someone else - she thought it was her fault. When she realised life would never be the same again - she thought it was her fault. And when he wanted her back like nothing had changed - Delia started to wonder if perhaps she was not to blame…

From Newcastle to London and back again, with dodgy jobs, eccentric bosses and annoyingly handsome journalists thrown in, Delia must find out where her old self went - and if she can ever get her back.

It's not me it's you

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes and I have. This was a great story and my friends loved the sound of the characters

What about Julia Barrie’s performance did you like?

She is lovely to listen to and does great accents.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it did but it was too long for that. I struggled to stop listening though

Any additional comments?

This is a great book and has lots to keep you interested! I have listened to Julia Barrie a few times and her narration really makes this book a pleasure.

Loved it !

Another great novel by Mhari!
Found the main character frustrating, but I think that is indicative of how invested I got in the story.

One of Mhari's best

I've read all of Mhari's books and this is one of my favourites. I didn't mind the narrator- apart from the appalling Australian accent. It wasn't even close and ruined all the scenes with Kurt.

Mhairi McFarlane never disappoints

It's the never-similar insults that are 2 parts crude and 1 part creative that get me every time.
And Julie Barrie does the best Sarah Milligan impression - it's a delight to listen to.

Binge listened

I really enjoyed this story. Light, at times funny, with likeable characters. The narration suited the style of the story and the main character.

excellent story and narration

in the past week I've become a die hard McFarlane fan, and am already dreading running out of her books to read for the first time. this one did not disappoint being funny, with well rounded, relatable characters, aspirational romance, a satisfying moral center and excellent vintage clothing. the narrator did a great job with all the British accents... at least to my NZ ear, but (spoiler) her Aussie was so bad that it actually added to the villan's repulsiveness.

I really loved this book- interesting and sympathetic characters, great plot. As always I regretted not trying to make it last longer. Absolutely brilliant narration.
