Publisher's Summary

A captivating true story about a young mother's struggle after losing the love of her life to Covid, having to navigate through grief, and discovering her path to happiness!

Michelle Greene is a Canadian woman of Jamaican descent who became a mother to two boys at a very young age! This is her story of triumph.

After one boy’s father passed away and the other left a permanent vacancy in their lives, Michelle worked hard to ensure her boys would want for nothing.

However, there was no one to care for her. But, when she met BRIAN, everything clicked. On that fated day, she made an unplanned stop at her friend’s bar to say “hello.” And Brian was there to do the same.

Noting her poor parking job, Brian strolled through the front door and playfully gave her flack after being introduced through their mutual friends.

Although it was such a small decision to enter the bar that day, it changed her life forever. Brian was handsome, tall, charismatic, funny, and a gentleman. On their first date, they went to dinner at an Italian restaurant, got ice cream, then topped off the evening with a cocktail and beer at the bar across the street.

Although Michelle would learn it was commonplace for Brian to know the owner of every place they went to, she was impressed by how open he was to others.

Brian developed a good relationship with her sons and showered her with all the love and support she needed. Not long after, they got engaged at Michelle’s birthday party in front of all their friends and family. Brian had swept her off her feet, and she happily accepted his proposal.

Soon after, they wed in a beachside ceremony in Jamaica. As their fairytale romance progressed, they decided to try to have a child together. Though they struggled with infertility, they attempted IVF to no avail.

Finally, after countless pills, injections, doctor’s visits, and a few negative pregnancy tests, the heartbreak was too much. For the sake of their mental health, mainly Michelle’s, they had to call it quits.

Despite the heartache, they enjoyed every minute together. Michelle and Brian faced disappointment and sorrow that would tear most relationships apart, but theirs only seemed to grow stronger. Their love for one another was unconditional and endearing.

When Brian was diagnosed with pulmonary alveolar proteinosis, a terminal illness, it devastated them. But, as anyone would, they explored options and treatments; they faced it as they did everything else in life - together.

But, unfortunately, Covid took Brian from Michelle instead. Two years later, Michelle visits with some girlfriends and reflects on her years of love, grief, and healing.

While the journey was not easy, she found her way through it; and, thankfully, found her way back to love again.

Now, she’s ready to share her story in the hopes that others will find comfort and healing through her experience with love and loss.
