About this listen
Editorial reviews
Majid Fakhry condenses centuries of thought surrounding philosophy and its role within Islam in this illuminating collection, a must-listen for beginners hoping to learn more about the religion. Fakhry explores the introduction of Greek philosophy into Islam around the eighth century, highlights important texts and figures in the movement, discusses the controversies surrounding philosophical thought amongst Muslims, and shows what role it has within modern Islam. Fakhry provides brilliant insight, delivered with an authoritative tone by Raad Rawi, who has a professorial air. Rawi's voice is also melodious and fluid throughout, making this comprehensive introduction a marvelous listen.

Overview, not intro
Given that all books about Islam are generally awful, this one is okay. It could be a lot better, he doesn't explain anything, and talks a lot of BS, but the book does give you an idea of what is going on if you rewind enough times.
I can now say from a position of knowledge that aqeedah is total rubbish, and lots of Muslims of the past have also thought this for good reason.
