Hjemme hos Iqbal i Blågårdsgade bliver der også julet igennem. Iqbals far er trukket i nissehuen og inviterer hele opgangen til dansk juleaften. Men i København er den gode julestemning forsvundet.
Gaderne bliver rippet for julepynt i nattens mulm og mørke, og da også det store rådhusjuletræ forsvinder sporløst, beslutter Iqbal og Tariq at efterforske mysteriet. En gammel kending er nemlig lige blevet løsladt fra Vestre Fængsel og meget tyder på, at han har en finger med i spillet. Det bliver en dramatisk december-kapløb mod tiden for at redde København og - ikke mindst - julen!
