その後、コンピューターやゲームソフトの店が増えた秋葉原に、転機が訪れたのは1997年頃。
アニメキャラクターの格好をした女性が店員を務めるコスプレ喫茶などが続々オープンし、秋葉原は＂電気街＂から＂オタクの街＂に変貌しました。
