Every February 3rd in Japan is setsubun, and there are setsubun events all over the country. 日本では毎年2月3日が節分で、各地で行事が行われます。
季節の変わり目である節分には邪気を払うという意味を込め、鬼を追い払う豆まきをするのが一般的です。
昔は一家の主人か、その家の年男だけがまく風習でしたが、現在は一家全員に幸運がくるように家族全員で豆まきをします。
豆をまく時には「鬼は外、福は内」と掛け声をあげます。
「鬼は外」の時は窓を開けて、外へ豆を2回まき、鬼が戻らないように窓をすぐ閉め、「福は内」の時は部屋の中に豆を2回まきます。
豆をまいた後は、自分の年齢と同じ数だけ拾って食べると、その年は風邪をひかず、健康でいられるといわれます。©2017 KODANSHA
