日本には昔、一定の年齢に達した子どもを成人とみなす儀式はありましたが、20歳を成人とし、現在のような成人式が行われるようになったのは1946年のこと。
成人式では地域の長から祝福の言葉が贈られたり、ミュージシャンのライブが行われたりします。
本来、成人式には「若者に大人としての自覚を持ってほしい」という思いが込められていますが、現在の成人式は、多くの若者にとっては堂々とお酒が飲める"飲酒解禁日"。
