 Ochazuke is a quick and easy dish made simply by pouring Japanese tea over rice. It can be eaten when there is little time to cook or when you just want something light. ご飯に茶をかけただけのお茶漬けは、調理する時間がない時や食欲がない時でも食べられる、手軽でさっぱりした料理です。
居酒屋で、締めの料理として注文する人もたくさんいます。
日本には昔から、ご飯に湯や水をかけた「水飯」や「湯漬け」という料理があり、平安時代の文学にも登場します。
太った貴族がダイエット食として食べていたという物語も残っています。
室町時代に、将軍が酒に酔った時に食べたことから、湯漬けを食べる習慣が普及したといわれます。
そして緑茶が民衆に広まった江戸時代に、湯の代わりに茶をご飯にかけて食べる、お茶漬けが登場。江戸の町には「茶漬け屋」も出現しました。©2017 KODANSHA English
