About this listen
Amy Walker endured unspeakable horrors while being held as a hostage before she was rescued by Dallas Garrett and his brothers from E.D.E.N., Inc. Amy is determined to leave the past behind...but only after she gets some answers to the questions that haunt her. Why was she abducted by the terrorists? Why is her mother locked up in a mental institution?
Dallas wants Amy to know he's a man she can trust. He's incapable of offering her his love, but promises his sworn protection while she embarks on her quest to discover the truth about her family...and herself.
Working on a lead, Amy and Dallas team up with an investigative journalist and an unlikely accomplice whose motives are as murky as his past. Soon they are drawn into the depths of a secret organization that practices non-consensual mind-control experimentation - one that Amy's own grandfather appears to be involved in. With a ruthless enemy closing in fast, Amy and Dallas race against time and risk their lives to expose these crimes against humanity...and share a passion neither of them could have expected.

where has this author been hiding
OMG shut the front door! yay,yay and double yay. I've been waiting for audible to catch up with my favorite authors and stumbled on Cindy Gerard. read a lot of previews and she got really good responses.
thought I'd give her a crack. was going to start at the beginning of the bodyguard series but got better reviews and I liked the storylines in the black ops series more. I took the reviewers advice and read book 6 of the bodyguard series to get the introduction of the characters needed for black ops book 1. there was enough in there 2 set the tone for these 2, as the events and background are always highlighted anyway but the emotional tone is what sets it up, for me anyway.
this was a completly different take on the "badies" your always expecting middle East drama. even though a tad of that touched the sides of the plot. a lot of action, some nice steam, some denial on both sides and lots of baggage.....which makes the HEA that much sweeter.
the first 6 chapters I was wondering if I could get through this book. I knew Cindy was setting up the background characters and bringing them and the storyline up to speed but it was told from 2 POV's and overlapped the time frame. I was getting a bit impatient but kept telling myself , it's the catch up scene and character setting.
then, happily she gets down to business and away we went. bloody awesome and so excited to have found her.
first time listen to this narrator Alistair, he did a great job with lightness of voice for the female part and his tone and Inflections were easy to follow and created great pieces of enjoyment when characters sculpted out their own intensity/ banter.
on to black ops

Fantastic
Wow. I ended up starting the wrong series first but didn’t effect the stories at all. Absolutely loved all of the books in both series.
