Publisher's Summary
Now significantly revised with over 70 percent new material, this is the authoritative audio presentation of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, which is taught and practiced around the world.
IFS reveals how the subpersonalities or parts of each individual's psyche relate to each other like members of a family, and how - just as in a family - polarization among parts can lead to emotional suffering. IFS originator Richard Schwartz and master clinician Martha Sweezy explain core concepts and provide practical guidelines for implementing IFS with clients who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, and other behavioral problems. They also address strategies for treating families and couples. IFS therapy is listed in SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices.
Internal Family Systems Therapyis deftly narrated by Brian Arens, a listener favorite.
Produced and published by Echo Point Books & Media, an independent bookseller in Brattleboro, Vermont.

A good book if your wanting to learn how to undo the past.
It is quite a long listen but IFST is a great way to learn about not only undoing trauma but also a great tool for bringing people together. Great book would recommend.

Life changing
An excellent summary on the theory of IFS. I’m currently going through IFS therapy and this book helped me immensely in this process of understanding. A life changing, & now life long practice that I hope will continue to grow around the world.

Fantastic book
Everything you want to know about IFS and so much more. This book is rich in content and has some powerful take aways. I recommend it for therapists but also patients especially if you have CPTSD

Fantastic! I’m a newbie. Not a therapist
I’m a lay person not a therapist. And I found this book great! Very helpful. Like way better than standard self-help fare.

couldn't get past the reader
The person who narrated, no offense and who ever thought this sounded right... no offense. Sorry but sounds partially robotic.

Fantastic except hypocrisy at the end
I was fully onboard until the last sections where it outlined political issues to highlight the systems in society. However this simply devolved into “left is good and right is bad”, in utter contradiction to everything that IFS appeared to highlight about managers and firefighters eg there is a reason they are there and we should seek to understand instead of demonising.
Utterly disappointing, but not surprising.
