Whilst this was hard to do at first, with practice it became easier. Keeping up this exercise is simple. Give it a go.

Gentle and comforting
Great way to start the day or to do when anxiety or depression is starting to rise. I can feel a physical difference in my body especially if you do it with open relaxed hand with palms facing up/forward ( known as wiling hands and half smile in DBT)
