About this listen

The apocalypse is coming, but only a lucky—or perhaps unlucky—few know.

Silas is inducted into the System, becoming the last in a long line of Earth's "forerunners." The rewards are great, but the danger is greater. We are not alone in the universe. The fate of five worlds hangs on how their forerunners perform.

Will Silas have what it takes to win Earth a place in the multiverse? Or will Earth become another mining world stripped of all resources and left a barren husk floating in the cosmos?

A system-enforced secret, a deadly challenge, and only a year to go. The countdown begins now!

Great story if you're looking to fall asleep.

The story here is very well constructed. A blend of the feels of Fallout combined with Cyberpunk-ish Litrpg.

The only stumbling point is the narration.

Roger Clark has the kind of voice that takes a few seconds to pronounce one word. It is SLOOOW.

Halfway through a sentence, you begin to forget what the start of that sentence referred to.

Not a hard fix, simply set it to x1.2 speed. But still. It's laughably bad at the normal setting.

A solid Start

Story: This book had me hooked, and I proceeded to read the rest of the series (that's out so far). Interesting world that's a mix between a Sci-Fi battle royal taking place over challenges and a giant stargate universe.

Characters: The MC is funny, I enjoy the references and how he is both living an unapologetic super power fantasy and a life and death situation,

Overview: Definity. Its well worth your time and money.

It’s not sci fi

One of the worst books, if you like fantasy then maybe ok, for a sci fi book the story is vaguely sci fi. One thing I know is I wasted time and money on it.

good premise, crap characters

as the title says it's a good premise but it's kinda ruined by the characters. Got the MC who spends half his time explaining his actions than actually doing them, the other forerunners of earth are selfish and egotistical. Rather test the main character to see if he's a creep and worthy enough to stand by them instead of helping and then have the brains to basically threaten him saying he would be replaced even though they hadn't in 2 years?? why doesn't any of this crap make sense. did AI write the human interactions??
