Doctors need to listen to this book
Having flipped from nurse to patient, my experience of healthcare has been traumatic. Disinterested, disengaged doctors that see all test results mostly normal that don’t physically examine or hear symptoms, diminishing life shattering illness, not only affects people through missing something but ultimately strips hope and faith in the medical system contributing to declining mental health. Then the ultimate dismissal of referring a physical ailment to a psychiatrist/psychologist.
A doctor that listens whilst saying “I don’t know” invites more trust. The systems need to change in many ways, but this book highlights how one person can create a movement. Thank you for this heart wrenching book.
