About this listen
Perfect for fans of Me Before You and One Day, this heart-breaking story of love, loss and life will have you questioning everything you thought you knew about destiny . . .
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Type-A Manhattan lawyer Dannie Kohan has been in possession of her meticulously crafted answer since she understood the question. On the day that she nails the most important job interview of her career and gets engaged to the perfect man, she's well on her way to fulfilling her life goals.
That night Dannie falls asleep only to wake up in a different apartment with a different ring on her finger, and in the company of a very different man. The TV is on in the background, and she can just make out the date. It's the same night - December 15th - but 2025, five years in the future.
It was just a dream, she tells herself when she wakes, but it felt so real . . . Determined to ignore the odd experience, she files it away in the back of her mind.
That is, until four and a half years later, when Dannie turns down a street and there, standing on the corner, is the man from her dream . . .
In Five Years is a love story, brimming with joy and heartbreak. But it is definitely not the love story you're expecting.

Friendship
This book was different than what I expected so that swayed my opinion. While I did enjoy it, I don't think it was amazing. The narration was great.

Not what I expected
This story was so much more than what I expected it to be. It went in a direction that I didn’t think it would, it was actually quite heartbreaking to read but a beautiful story about friendship and love. I found myself crying a lot though the final chapters. Sad but lovely.

great narrator, storyline was good
I enjoyed this one, but it wasn't that thought-provoking. The most intriguing part was probably within the first 20 minutes. Still a solid listen which broke my heart at some points but the ending was not what I expected.

"But not the love story you're expecting"
This story has unexpectedly settled into my chest and will likely stay there. Thought I'd found something interesting and light-hearted to listen to in forty-minute portions throughout my week. Stayed up an entire night listening to it mostly in one sitting. Became quite attached to the characters and find myself still thinking about them.

Good but not remarkable
Cleaning my library I found this book. I remember that I enjoyed it and that it was it was nice and easy to listen to, however, this was only a couple of months back and I can't remember the storyline; which bring me to the conclusion that it was not remarkable, just a nice easy read.

Wonderful story.
I absolutely loved this book. The narration was fabulous. Have lots of tissues handy. Don’t read too many reviews - go in blind and enjoy it.

An easy listen
I didn’t see the ending coming.
This was very easy listening, perfect while driving, not requiring much concentration but very enjoyable.

Couldn't finish it
Couldn't finish it. The main character was too painful. Not my cup of tea.

A little repetitive and unimaginative
Challenging to discern the voices of different characters. Quite monotonous and a little cliched at times.
