About this listen
First up: Susie looks at 10 sex emergencies the iPhone can help you with. It's true, there's a new iPhone "assistant" named "Siri" who will direct you to all sorts of services, from hookers and porn shops to the closest place to score more Viagra. But there is one service she has been programmed to avoid: information about abortion referrals. Seems like blowjobs are okay to recommend, but Siri follows the ultra-conservative line when it comes to a woman's choice.
Next, remembering the classic book The Joy of Sex. Susie reads an article from the BBC that focuses on the book's illustrations. Back in 1972, this was a groundbreaking manual that featured hand-drawn images of a couple in countless sexual positions. The man had a full beard, and the women had hairy armpits. Hippies! Susie laughs as she recalls what a bold book this was back then and how it still stands out as one of her favorite sex books.
Then, in our "Try This at Home" mailbag, Susie reads a letter from a listener who is looking for a sex guru. He's writing erotica and wants advice on how to improve his literary skills while he maintains the horny spice. "How do I channel both Charles Bukowski and Chaucer?" Susie has some tips for our aspiring Hemmingway.
