Ignore the negative reviews.
The book is Good. It has a unique and great premise without feeling gimmicky. Idk why the guy who gave a negative review couldn't comprehend there being more than 1 main character. Most authors get apprication for that.
The narrator is the same person who narrates The Path of Ascension and adds a good amount of personality. Although, I do wish he had more variety for his female voices.
I am immediately purchasing the next book. :)

The negative reviews are a lie
The one about it being 80% wife is false there is a total of 4 interludes where she is the focus, out of like 90 chapters. That’s about 20% if we include the times where she is with the MC and dialogue happens….
And the whole names being said each time is just the culture in which the book is themed and honestly I wouldn’t have even noticed if they didn’t point it out.
All in all I’d give this a solid 4/5 the story is promising and all the characters are solid. I don’t like the MC’s personality at times but that’s just a personal gripe and overall I enjoyed this

Annoying style
I couldn't get
past the constant name repetition. It was very irritating, every sentence with full names...
I gave up at about 20℅.
Personal taste, sorry. 🤷

Mc with system like gift yet 80% is not about him.
my god i was so disappointed in this title.
i always love wuxia type novels with a little bit of system or litrpg like elements but was just let down.
80% of the book is more about his wife than him, while the system like gift he has could of made this such a awesome and exploitable progression for him it just feels like the system he had was all just to aid the "Side story" and not until the last 3hours of the book did it start being about him.... than shoved back in to a the side story again.
i say side story because this whole book just feels like its supposed to be lore for a continuation of this book, no substance... the dilemma's Mc had were brushed aside without him acting on it and while there's the goal with all cultivation novels... we seem to not care about abusing his gifts to give him an advantage only sometimes. (of course because he had restrictions but.. it just pushed the narrative that this book wasn't supposed to be about him)
also, while the narrator did a good job with most of the characters, one of them seemed to be very over the top with it and just ruined the book (given it might not be the narrators fault due to the characters in questions personality, if you listen to it you will know who i am talking about)
Do not recommend.
