About this listen
The journey started on a cold, crispy, gloomy winter day way back in November 1960 on the mean streets of Chicago.
I was born to a married couple who were high school sweethearts who were madly in love with each other. Mom was very disappointed in the fact that she did not have a son. She blamed my Dad - her husband - for not giving her a son.
Even though I was not what she wanted God still kept me through it all. He has kept me and made sure that I had the strength to go through all God had in store for me. When people think of their personal strength, the first thing they think of is weakness. They think they can’t do whatever the activity is.
When you feel that you can’t do something, turn your thinking around and know that you can and you will, and you can do anything. Know this with all your heart - that this too shall pass. I get all my strength from God and his precious son. They have carried me over some rough mountains, through some low valleys, high waters, major floods, sunny days, cloudy days, happy days, and some sad days. Threw it all I remembered that He loves me and He cares. Now I can say that I am truly grateful for it all because I am still here…
