About this listen
Following the murder of their beloved brother, four sisters find a way to mend their own broken relationship by tracing the strangers he saved in death.
The O'Shea sisters couldn't be more different.
Allison, an obstetrician, has always put others before herself and is torn between her job and young family.
Prizewinning film director Bridie hasn't had work in over a decade, though her actor husband is on the brink of stardom.
Clare, desperate for a baby, is bereft when her wife leaves her after their latest IVF failure.
And Emma, the youngest, has turned to God to fill the aching loneliness in her life.
When their only brother Daniel is killed the four women drift even further apart.
Then, on the third anniversary of Daniel's death, Clare proposes an idea: they should trace the many recipients saved by his donated organs. Perhaps their brother's gift of life can bring them back together again?

Ah Kylie Ladd, you’ve done it again!
Thanks so much Kylie, for introducing us to such a different and always interesting family, and the topic of organ donation. The story and its gentle but firm message is that we ARE inter-dependent and no-one in any family should see themselves as any less worthy because of position, power and more. I really enjoyed my listen, as I drove around the city we have returned to and as always, Kylie you gave us a story with a message. Very happy to champion organ donation. Our details are on the system and have been for years. I enjoyed the narration too.

Kylie’s best book yet. Beautiful story, amazing writing, I don’t want to part with this family - especially JT!

So much life in death.
This is a well researched novel that intrigued me with a much greater depth than I was expecting. Having both family and friends on both sides of the organ donation and recipient balance beam, I was touched, enchanted and delighted by the way Kylie Ladd addressed so many issues and demonstrated so coherently and smoothly how the lives of everyone concerned are touched and altered irrevocably by the gift of organ donation and all the incredibly ingenious medicine that enables it.

Highly recommend
This is my fave so far of Kylie Ladd’s books. It has multiple characters, all with distinct voices. There are laughs to be had as well as serious topics tackled. It would be a great book club read.

Fascinating exploration of family life after loss
There aren’t enough words to encapsulate what this novel is about but I so loved the exploration of the characters and their backstories and all the fascinating family dynamics. I felt I knew the different characters so well that I was sad when the story ended.

Moving storyline, beautifully written.
Another absorbing book from one of my favourite authors. Loved the carefully drawn characters and how each of the four sisters were so different from each other.
