Funny and heartfelt
I love Mhairi's work; hers are really the only "rom-com" style books I read. Her characters are always SO warm and engaging, always people you want to know and very quickly care about. I ALWAYS fall hook, line and sinker for the story she wants to tell and get caught up in the whole ride.
Funny, heartfelt, exploring some interesting and relevant new ideas. If you enjoy this genre, you can't do better than Mhairi.

Love Story
This story started out a little slow but I did find it improved. The storyline was rather obvious but that’s ok. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want and it was finished off nicely. Really liked it a lot!

Great
Great book. Kept me interested throughout. The narrators character voices were a little annoying occasionally but now that I’ve finished the book I found myself speaking with the narrators accent today so go figure.
Was an excellent audio book.

Heart warming, the new Marian Keyes!
Really loved this book. The narrator did an amazing job with all her accents. It had some great sub plots too.
I will be reading more of her books for sure.

Romantic story, easy to binge-listen to
Thoroughly enjoyed this romantic story of a strong and resilient woman who finds the joy of rediscovering a love she deserves after being cheated on and dumped. Sara Novak has an easy-to-listen-to voice and engaging tone, but found lengthy pauses confusing inflections and misplaced emphasis a little distracting. Still a 5 star book though.

Proof that men just ain't it
The first several hours of this book were genuinely difficult to listen to, purely because of what Laurie went through. I loved Laurie and her fun sense of humour and her connection with Jamie felt genuine.
My only gripe was that the ending felt way too rushed and a bit left field of what the book was leading up to. If you cut out the last chapter, it would easily be a 5 star read for me.

Great cute and easy-going story
Another good, easy listen from Mhairi McFarlane. Although the story line was predictable, I still enjoyed it! McFarlane is great at creating cute and witty moments. The narrator's take on the character was surprising, but I found added more to the character and was a nice change of pace from other narrators. Easy to differentiate the voices (she did a great job with all the accents), and nice to listen to while around the house. Still one of my favourite audio books!

Fun novel, annoying narration
A lively, endearing novel with a fun protagonist and some excellent moments - sadly a bit let down by the narration.
Unfortunate intonation where every sentence ends in a lift? So that everything’s a question? And you find it hard to figure out which things are actually questions?
There was some awkward long pausing, as well random rushing - and I found it hard sometimes to distinguish the dialogue from the storyteller.
The lead character Laurie is rounded, fun and very relatable - and well matched by her colleague, the dreamy Jamie.
Some of the sub-plots felt a bit thrown together, which meant the psychology of the protagonist didn’t always ring quite true. But it mostly hung together, thanks largely to the humorous and boisterous writing.
There were a few too many stereotypes among the background characters, but they led to several “take that!” moments of independence and welcome displays of female solidarity.
A bit of a mixed bag but still a satisfying listen
