Dated and predictable

Any additional comments?

Most of the Twilight Zone stories have nostalgia on their side to save them, but unfortunately this one can't be saved as we have progressed too far for the story to be a surprise to anybody but a 3 year old.
The premise makes no sense what-so-ever and is predictable by 99.9% of all human beings. There is literally no other explanation for what must be happening (even in the Twilight Zone).
As the characters move towards the ending they do some ridiculous things in order to make the ending more potent, but this just aids the predictability and cuts the believe-ability off at the knees.
When the ending eventually comes and we are subjected to our Planet of the Apes-esque reveal all we can do is wonder..."Is that it?"
This was a highly rated TZ story, and must have been good in it's time...but time has not been kind to the premise here. You are advised to look elsewhere.
On a side note, I purchased a bunch of TZ stories based on which ones were highly rated over the years and all of them were thoroughly enjoyable. Silly. But enjoyable. I only write a review for this one as it was the only one that did not stand up.
