Publisher's Summary

She got more than she bargained for.

When Serena comes to Trangor to participate in the First Hunt, the last thing she expects is to find herself forced to marry an Ordosian…or be executed. She knows nothing of his people, nothing of him, except that he’s got fangs, scales, and a crazy long tail. Serena only has to play the part of being a wife for six months, and then she’ll be free to leave. But, Szaro seems to have other plans. He’s big, intimidating, and definitely not human. Yet, how can she remain indifferent when he does everything to please her?

From the moment he lays eyes on Serena, Szaro is fascinated by the delicate human female. Deceptively fragile in appearance, she’s a fearless and skilled hunter. The lingering taste of her scent on his tongue is intoxicating. Claiming her to save her life is no hardship for him. Overcoming their differences and convincing her to stay willingly is a challenge he relishes. But, will that prove more than either of them can handle?

challenging listen to a naga

Well, this was different. I wasn't sure what a naga was. I must say I wasn't as open to Szaro as I was to Olix. A snake alien was tricky to wrap my head around.
My family has a pet snake and I think I'll look at it totally different after listening to this book.
Although this book wasn't as politically driven as the first, there was sinister poaching elements, but it centred mainly around personal cultures, family values, communication and alien anatomy.
The clever weaving of a human sport into the plotline was unique.
I loved the world Regine built with this story and it suited the h beautifully, it was an interesting listen to see how the relationships of H and h, family and friends, eventually changed their ideals to see a bigger picture.
Daryl Mayfield is a new discovery for me, and i just love his narration. His various voices just breathes life in to these characters.

A really good Naga book!

This book was really good! with how descriptive it was with the world and lore soo good. I enjoyed it very much, the reader's voice was really smooth and amazing to listen to. I was a little disappointed that there was no female reader for the part of Serena but Daryl Mayfield (Reader) did an awesome job playing both roles. I was hoping for a little more action that wasn't a part of the hunts maybe a little jealousy action would have been good, but I still was up super late listening because I couldn't get enough!
