Publisher's Summary
Aria Abbott has never had a home. Drifting through the foster system for most of her life, she finally finds herself in a situation so unbearable that she has no choice but to run away. Sleeping on the streets pushes Aria beyond any suffering she has felt before; the only thing worse than seeing no escape is the knowledge that no one in the world cares enough to try and find her.
Enter Taylor, a homeless young man with a charismatic smile and a dream of fame, fortune, and the sunshine of LA. Swept up in his energy, Aria and Taylor board a greyhound bus and never look back.
In this bright new world, Aria will discover a whole community of people living in the shadows, in the margins of society. As Taylor follows his dreams, Aria follows her heart. But she will discover that it isn't always clear who you can trust, that strangers can be kind, or treacherous, or sometimes as familiar as your own reflection, if you're willing to look hard enough.

Amazed at how well author Teal Swan can put herself in her characters shoes as she describes each of their unique personalities and ways of life. This is a wonderful, yet confronting story full of truths about life on the streets of Los Angeles.

Where there is life, there is hope.
I am a huge Teal Swan fan. Her words resonate with me like no other. I didn’t know what to expect when purchasing this fictional novel I’d heard Teal mention in some of her videos a while back. I’ve read other books that Teal has written but Hunger of the Pine is her first fictional novel. It had me hooked from the first chapter. It’s a rugged and gritty portrayal of a young girl forced to live on the streets due to the circumstances she was born into. I very quickly became emotionally bonded with the main character and could relate to her and the people she met on her journey to and while living rough in LA. I assumed that Teal would be able to write fiction, she’s so intelligent and tuned in. This book is going to be one I listen to again. I want to hear the words Teal used to describe certain events and thought processes again as there were some absolutely magnificent strings of pearls of wisdom in thus book. I highly recommend Hunger of the Pine and pray that Teal writes more fiction. She has many gifts, many talents, and writing fiction is surely one of them.
Lauryn Allman narrates in a manner which is engaging to the listener and her voice is very. easy to listen to.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Thank you Teal.
