About this listen
Carter isn't sure what to call his two alien protectors. Friends? Boyfriends? Mates?
Or merely indiscriminate lovers with sexy purrs and tangling tails?
He would be lost without them, he knows that. When their home is invaded by a dangerous new kind of alien slaver, they strike out into the jungle. He depends on them for food, protection, a direction to walk in. He's helpless even for shelter and warmth.
Thankfully, his alien lovers seem devoted, but why? Carter wishes he knew their names or anything else. Like whether the attachment he's feeling is returned.
With aliens, you can't make assumptions.
Wouldn't it be nice if he could just ask?
Contains mature themes.

Good conclusion to the story
This is a good conclusion to the Pykh series.
It lacks a little of the power of the first book and I felt that the author could have wrapped things up more quickly. Your interest is maintained because you've become invested in the three main characters through the first book.
This book introduces other characters - I think this is what makes it lose some of its punch. The other characters are far more domestic. Also there isn't the sense of imminent doom that there is in the first book.
Never-the-less Joel Leslie's narration is fantastic. He has a different voice for each of the main characters - each convincing.
Enjoyed it.

Really enjoying this alien sci-fi romance series!
Having escaped the insectoid slavers, human space engineer Carter and his quilled feline alien lovers, Pyke and Siel, struggle through the jungle to evade recapture. When they encounter Auk the Dusk Walker, one of their own race, Pyke and Siel find they may have jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. I chafed a little in the first book because Carter couldn’t communicate with Pyke and Siel but the relationship payoffs in this second book were well worth the wait and I found it an even more satisfying story. Here we learn much more about Pyke and Siel’s race, the Fleaf’akhie, including some history, a glimpse of their internal politics, and the command and reverence given to Omegas. Audio narrator Joel Leslie went above and beyond, not only giving Pyke, Siel, Carter & Auk distinctive voices, but also the glitching speech technology!

I'm addicted!
OMG! I am addicted to #spacecats!! I NEED book 3 - yesterday!
This is a very different story which has completely pulled me in.
Fascinating writing paired with the mind blowing talent of performer Joel Leslie, this is not to be missed (but read/listen to book 1 first). Joel's performance is beyond belief. Many challenges with language, accents, mimicking computer sounds and portraying multiple diverse characters perfectly displays why he is one of my favourite Audio performers!
