Publisher's Summary

Phone rage, like road rage, is a problem.

Are you that person? The one who blows up at the incompetent customer rep on the phone?

Are your outbursts so epic, they have gone viral on social media (or maybe they should)?

Do such phone calls make your blood boil to the point where you might have a stroke?

Have you looked back at your behavior and felt mortified that you acted that way?

Do you feel “stuck” with your anger triggers when dealing with idiots on the phone?

Have you finally given up and accepted that rage might just be part of your personality?

Do you wish everyone on the phone would just stop pissing you off?

What would it take for you to have a calm phone conversation where you hang up the call with a win?

Have you thought about preparing yourself for a different approach?

If someone showed you a different way, would you be interested?

If you have answered yes to any of the above, then this is the perfect book for you.

On a scale of one to 10, how well can you control your temper on the phone? For me, I have moved from a two to a solid seven on most days.

But I wasn’t always that way. It took a lot of practice and specific techniques to reach that point.

I am here to tell you that there is a better way! I’m here to help you go from a one to a four, or wherever you need to be to stay calm.

This book is more than just a book. It is part introspection companion and part actionable guide that will:

  • Show you why you get triggered.
  • Help you understand the physical changes in your brain when you get angry.
  • Know the right place and time to make those dreaded phone calls.
  • How to effectively negotiate so you always walk away triumphant.
  • And most importantly, the best way to flip the phone call in your favor. Yes, in your favor.

I wrote this book to tell you it is possible to finish a phone call with a smile and with success.

I can help you when you are ready to change.

About the author: My name is Savanna Spencer. I have worked telephonically for the past two decades. Believe me, I am that person. With red hair to boot! However, I have learned that there are secrets to keeping me calm. They don’t come naturally to me, so I had to work at them until they became muscle memory.

They do work. As the AA famous saying goes, “It works if you work it.”

I am a nurse case manager, health coach, and motivational interviewing trainer. I work with patients who are injured at work. I deal with the broken healthcare system daily. I am constantly fighting for the needs of my patients in a world of apathetic, overworked, and burned-out healthcare workers.

When not in superhero nurse mode, you can find me relaxing with my daughter and my ragdoll cats in Maryland.
