About this listen

Hey, here’s a riddle: Why are you reading these words?

I'll give you the answer: Because you have a b*tch of a problem in your life that you still can't fix. So you can continue to fight with the means at hand, you can even rehash your past, hypothesize about your future. Okay, it’s your decision. But if you decide to change, then you will have to master your emotions.

Are you emotional? That's a good thing, everyone is. You, me, the next guy, everyone is. But if you don't discipline your emotions, if you don't master your emotions, then they will toy with you. They will eat away at you slowly, and?

And nothing. Or you can choose to say stop and that's that. Or you can choose to slam your fist on the table and then everything is yours. Want to master your fear of starting a business? Want to master your fear of traveling abroad alone? Want to master your fear of talking to strangers? Then set out on an introductory voyage and finally say "f--k off" to each of your fears.

Not just another book

This book is really incredible. It does not only provide practical steps on how to stop my mind from going into overdrive with too many thoughts, but it has also brought me into the awareness of the tremendous power I have over my thoughts. I no longer have to let my thoughts carry me wherever they want, I can decide what to think on and what to discard. This awareness is super-elating.

Shallow and under researched

I imagine the author sat down on a Sunday afternoon and typed this out in one sitting as he has just regurgitated generic self help material with some swear words thrown in for edginess. There is no peer validated research or psychological reasoning provided for any of the 'advice' given in this audiobook, which comes across as a budget version of a Tony Robbins book tape from the 90's. The parts where the author states to repeat mantras such as 'I am proud of myself' and tells the listener that 'you are awesome' are especially cringey. Couldn't even get through half of it, leaving a negative review so others don't waste their time and money.
