About this listen
Poignant, inspiring, funny and most importantly authentic, How to Lose Friends and Influence White People explores how to make a difference when championing change and racial equality.
A powerful and personal guide on how to be effective, no matter who you’re trying to influence. Whether it's the racist relative sitting across the table at a family function, or the CEO blind to the institutional barriers to people of colour in the workplace, award-winning journalist and vivacious leader Antoinette Lattouf has some tips and advice on what to do.
Unlike Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People, it won’t advise you not to 'criticise, condemn or complain' but instead explores the fallout when you do just that. With searing insights into the popularity contests you’ll forgo, and how to decide which races are worth running -- and crucially which simply aren’t worth time or energy.
With wit and warmth, drawing on her own experiences and some very public missteps others have taken, Antoinette Lattouf shows us that a world of allies and advocates will be a better place for all of us – you just need to learn how to make (and keep) them!

Truly excellent
This book is a must read - as a person of colour, I found this to be insightful, captivating and at times, emotional. Antoinette Lattouf succinctly and expertly captured what I, like so many others, have experienced growing up in Australia and entering the workforce. It has both sobering and humorous elements and I often found myself nodding in agreement throughout reading the book. This book should be mandatory reading for all - there is so much to gain in knowledge from this book and I think it will be one that I return to again and again.

Finally we have a voice who can speak for us all without any fear or hesitation.
A great book and the great narration. I can relate to almost all of your experiences. My own experiences are so horrifying that if we start listing them another apology will be needed from racist white supreme beings.
I congratulate you on this daring book. I hope this book is the start of what is coming i.e a movement that is needed. After women got their rights I think it’s time for the rights of Diverse Australians.

A guide for many who stand with social justice and equity.
This book contains some techniques on how to deal with racists and dickheads. Examples are used and it is proof that we still have a long way to go in the world. Thank you for writing this Antoinette !
