Publisher's Summary
Are you hungry to help others through leadership but don't feel like you have the authority?
One of the greatest myths of leadership is that you must be in charge in order to lead. Great leaders don't buy it. Great leaders - whether they have the official authority or not - learn how to be an influential presence wherever they are.
In How to Lead When You're Not in Charge, author and pastor Clay Scroggins explains the nature of leadership and what's needed to be a great leader - even when you answer to someone else.
Drawing from biblical principles and his experience as the lead pastor of Buckhead Church in Atlanta, Georgia, Clay will help you nurture your vision and cultivate influence with integrity and confidence, even when you lack authority in your organization or ministry.
In this audiobook, Clay will walk you through the challenge of leadership and the four basic behaviors all great leaders have and how to cultivate them:
- Leading yourself
- Choosing positivity
- Thinking critically
- Rejecting passivity
With practical wisdom and humor, Clay Scroggins will help you free yourself to become the great leader you want to be so you can make a difference. Even when you're not in charge.

Separate Church from state
Unannounced Christian motivations dulled the delivery and purpose of the content. Otherwise decipherable and enjoyable.

Less about Leading, and more about God’s purpose
Should be listed as religious. By the title and the description this book sounds like it will be a great read helping people who really have the leadership qualities, but want to learn how to steward those by learning how to bring people along for the journey and influence. But this book sounds like a Sunday sermon about God’s purpose for our lives, somehow includes procreation, and doesn’t really have tangible tips for people still learning how to lead where they are at.
Was a good idea, and it seems like he had some really good books, but not applicable for those not looking to lead in a church setting. Which is contradictory to what he says in a later chapter believing that this would be applicable for everyone.

American religious nonsense
The classical American religious bullshit. The author keeps talking about "hearing the voice of God". If you hear voices, you've got schizofrenia and you should look for mental help. Your disease doesn't teach me anything. Useless book

religious propaganda
if a book about leadership revolve solely around a religious group that should be parte of the sinopses/description.

I want my money back! BUYER BEWARE!
I did not ask for a book to preach to me about religious ideology. Very disappointed. This book is produced under the guise of helping with leading yet it is a cloak for preaching.

👎🏼
Lost my interest in the best part of 2 seconds. Starts talking about church and leaders etc. The only thing church leaders do is cover up horrid abuse and brain wash people.

Amazing Narration + Amazing Content
One of the best books I’ve ever read on leadership. Loved how practical it was! And the narration by Clay was possibly the best I’ve ever heard on Audible! Will have to re-listen more than once to get everything out of it!

Doesn’t resonate with non-religious audience
Religious Overtones:
• Scroggins, a pastor, often incorporates religious and Christian perspectives in the context of leadership and personal development. This aspect can be off-putting for some readers, especially those who do not share the same faith .
• Examples and guidance in the book frequently involve references to God’s plans and control over one’s career and life, which might not resonate with non-religious readers
