As always brilliant

Mark Rashid is so inspirational though at times although he's made me take a long hard look at myself I almost think I shouldn't work my horses as I am so insensitive. I have become addicted to him.

Invaluable.

I'm in my second year since my first 'natural horsemanship' clinic. There are many challenges with mind and horse as I attempt to learn and hone skills. This book has put my mind a much better direction.

The first place ribbon is incidental

I am binge listening Mark Rashid at present (2 books in 2 weeks).

His approach weaving principles and practices from Aikido and horses with each other, and life is brilliant.

Thoroughly thoughtful, grounded and positive, it's helping me to be at peace with myself, which is making it much better for me, for everyone around me, and especially for my lovely, sensitive mare.

The book is well structured, the narrator excellent. The insights are memorable. The principles are practical.

I had surgery 6 weeks ago. I didn't ride much in the lead up, one thing and another, and it took me a few weeks to recover my energy. We entered a small show and managed a few short classes before we both decided we had done enough.

Today we did a low level dressage test. I was listening to this last night as I was cleaning the collective area at my mare's grazing (barn). I listened to it this morning.

I managed to remember many of Mark Rashid's insights, which calmed down all pre-test nerves, I manage to stay in the present moment for much more of the day than I would have a year ago.

I entered the test with a huge smile on my face. We were harmonious for much of the test. It was a joyful experience for me. We got first place. I had completely forgotten about the score sheet and wasn't curious about our placing. I was just so very happy about how far we've come this year.

I am impressed, deeply grateful, looking up "aikido dojo near me" as soon as I finish this review.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for teaching me so much, so elegantly.

Highly recommended.

Excellent - highly recommended

I wish all horse folk would listen to Mark Rashid. I've read and listened to a few of his now and this one is excellent, as are all the others. Mike Chamerlain is not my favourite narrator, but the book is so good, with so many insights, that this is no longer an issue after about 5 minutes. I have so many bookmarks in this one and I am sure I will listen to it often. "The old man" comes through beautifully in the stories and I love how Mark explains his thought processes and how the principles of the teachings are the things which come through. Yes, yes and YES. Highly recommended.

This book helped me to readjust my perspectives on life, especially my attitude to challenges

This read was both sometimes confronting and also touching. I feel this is why it has actually helped me approach the current challenges in my life, not just the challenges with some of my horses, in a more accepting, positive way.

It helped me understand why my dad loved Aikido!

The loss of Marks one and only heart horse spoke to my soul as I too have lost my best mate of 20 years. Marks words of appreciation on having had these precious years with our special horses helps to manage the grief of loss.

Inspiring and worth the listen

This story line got better and better as the book progressed. Mark appears to be a humble man with plenty of knowledge and wisdom to share with those who want to hear. The lessons are learnt directly from life and are not step by step how-to's instilled by text book yielding scholars.

Even if you are not a horse rider I believe you will enjoy this narrative.

The narrator was clear, fast and his tone suited the message.
