About this listen

Book four in the Gaunt's Ghosts series.

Sent to retrieve holy artefacts from a world lost to Chaos, Gaunt’s Ghosts find themselves beset by the enemy...but is Saint Sabbat herself helping them from beyond the grave?

Listen to it because: it's a new start for Gaunt's Ghosts. With a whole load of new troopers in the regiment and a dangerous mission - a race against time to retrieve holy relics from a dying world - Gaunt and his men (and women now!) have their work cut out for them.

The story: in disgrace after a catastrophic war, Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt and the Tanith First are sent to retrieve precious artefacts from a world lost to Chaos. With enemy all around them and time against them, Gaunt's Ghosts and their allies must prevent the holy relics of Saint Sabbat from falling into their foes' hands, and as mysterious events begin to occur, Gaunt begins to suspect that the Saint herself might be aiding them from beyond the grave.

Running time 10 hours 13 minutes.

Grand Battles

Another banger of a book but the end felt a bit rushed. Always a great performance from Toby. Characters are masterfully written by Dan.

Terrific and suspenseful story of the ghosts well narrated

I was disappointed by the third book but this fourth book was awesome, great story, suspenseful plots and keeps you on edge until the very end. Terrific audio performance as well. Highly recommended

A good one

One of the better Gaunt's Ghosts novels. Nice vehicle engagement which was lacking in stories at the time. Solid work from the author. All up worth reading/listening.

Spectacular Storytelling

Whilst of course the story itself was gorgeous, the narration, the emotion put into each of the characters really helped to pull you in and immerse you into the story. beautiful job.

For the Emperor!

Another great reading of another strong entry into Gaunts story. Maybe cuts a bit short the pay-off at the end but still satisfying.

Another great story from Dan Abbott

Bit confusing at the start as it jumps straight into the action but still a great story
