About this listen
Betrayed the night before his wedding by the supposed boy of his dreams, Ethan Robinson escapes the devastating fallout by going on his honeymoon alone to the other side of the world. Hard of hearing and still struggling with the repercussions of being late-deafened, traveling by himself leaves him feeling painfully isolated with his raw, broken heart.
Clay Kelly never expected to be starting life over in his forties. He got hitched young, but now his wife has divorced him and remarried; his kids are grown, and he's left his rural Outback town. In a new career driving a tour bus on Australia's East Coast, Clay reckons he's happy enough. He enjoys his cricket, a few beers, and a quiet life. If he's a bit lonely, it's not the end of the world.
Clay befriends Ethan, hoping he can cheer up the sad-eyed young man, and a crush on an unattainable straight guy is exactly the safe distraction Ethan needs. Yet as the days pass and their connection grows, long-repressed desires surface in Clay, and they are shocked to discover romance sparking. Clay is the sexy, rugged man of Ethan's dreams, and as the clock counts down on their time together, neither wants this honeymoon to end.
Contains mature themes.

Wholesome and steamy
The characters really go through it, but rewards await for good people who’ve been dealt unfortunate cards. Fun Aussie locations, Joel Leslie’s Aussie accent is very believable, even if he messes up some place names. Whoda thunk a Canadian would write about the Curry (Cloncurry).

Great Aussie m/m romance
Ethan, partially deaf, goes on his Australian honeymoon alone after finding his fiancé is unfaithful. He meets Clay, tour group operator and honest knock-about good bloke. Keira Andrews has captured the confusion and frustration of being partially deaf extremely well. She has also crafted a great love story. Joel Leslie inhabits both characters perfectly and provides a very credible Aussie accent with hardly any clangers.

new journey ahead
really liked this story. My heart broke for Ethan after his heart wrenching betrayal but the discovery he made by taking the honeymoon trip about himself and the subsequent friendship and journey with Clay was really beautiful. I loved these characters and will be reading and listening to more of this author in the future

The wedding is cancelled and Ethan is moving out. His sister in law to be talks him into going on his honeymoon. He meets his man of his dreams and life changes in a blink of an eye. Great love story
My husband and I had our honeymoon in Australia too. We did almost identical trip from Cairns to Sydney. And we loved Australia so much we moved here 10 years later with our 2 young children. Different love story, same big love.

Finding love half way around the world
Very enjoyable story. Ethan learns how to trust and love again, and Clay finds what it is to love when you meet the right person. Set against the backdrop of a trip up the coast of Queensland with beautiful vistas, this is a heartwarming story of two people who find each other. The side characters are fab including an ex-wife and bolshy daughter.
Joel Leslie again gives a fine performance switching between an American accent for Ethan and a very colloquial Aussie accent for Clay. Only a few clanger mispronunciations, but it is easy to forgive.
I image it will be as hard for non-south pacific readers to understand the Aussie slang as it is for Ethan in the story.
Great fun.
