Publisher's Summary

He's a professional hockey player trying to survive on his new team. I'm just trying to survive.

I'm down to my last dollar. I live day-to-day in a world that doesn't care. Despite my bad luck, I'm a fighter. I never give up. I never stop trying.

Ryan Parker's wealth and generosity set him apart from anyone I know. Yet, I don't trust him. It's nothing personal. I trust no one. But when my bad luck takes a turn for the worse, one person shows up. Ryan Parker.

I do not understand why he bothered because the guy has enough of his own issues to deal with. But I don't have a choice. I need him. It's a matter of survival.

His friendship changed everything. It changed me. I started to believe in myself. I allowed myself to trust. And for the first time in a long time, I felt my heart beat again.

Contains mature themes.

First Audible book and WOW!

I had never heard of Odette Stone and was really happy that I had chosen this book to listen to.
The story was well written and had a slow burn. I found myself rushing to get things done so I could listen to the next chapter. A fantastic audio book

Very enjoyable

Thoroughly enjoyed this story of the wealthy hockey player and the homeless brainy Goth girl. With a chance meeting involving accounting struggles.
Ryan has to make the choice when to help, hinder, hold back, and set free. Zoey has to figure out when to accept help, stand on her own, stay, and run away. Ryan and Zoey figure out that staying together is not always the right path and that inner strength takes time.

Another great listen

Odette knows how to tell a great story. I've found her books very entertaining so far with very suitable narration. Money well spent.

Slow durn

Slow durn romance that keeps your interest at peek. The male narrator made the male character come across really sexy, making the story come to life.

Slow burn with a believable ending

This was one of my first slow burn books and while I got a little antsy waiting for the spice, it made sense with the story and the characters. Some parts made me tear up, while others made me daydream while I should have been working! Narrators killed it... again. Definitely worth the read

Sports romance

I am not a fan of sports of any kind but this series has turned me into a Hockey freak. Loved how this was a departure from the storyline of the first book and can't wait for the next installment on audio.

Ice Hockey romance

I loved this book, narrators were great, the male voice was smokin hot. Loved the storyline.

Love, love, love!

Couldn’t wait to get into this one after finishing the first book. I would drive slower just to listen to more on the way home from work.

Alex Kydd

The male narrators voice is amazing but his female impersonation is a bit whiny. I also had to listen at 1.1x speed
Female narrator is ok.
Story is good but a bit drawn out towards the end
