About this listen
Bent Faurby (f.1938) er en dansk fag- og børnebogsforfatter og folkeskolelærer. Han voksede op i en lærerfamilie i Kolding og følte det derfor naturligt selv at gå lærervejen. Han blev uddannet i 1960 og flyttede få år efter til Grønland, hvor han underviste i Upernavik i Nordvestgrønland. Mødet med det smukke land og den barske natur inspirerede Bent Faurby til at skrive to fagbøger om Grønland. Men også hans store interesse for sport har sat sine spor i forfatterskabet, hvor flere af bøgerne kredser om sport, spænding og konkurrence og de følelser, det vækker i børn og unge. Bent Faurby har i tidens løb udgivet mere end 70 bøger, hvoraf en del er letlæsningsbøger for børn.
