About this listen

The history of the tablets translated in the following book is strange and beyond the belief of modern scientists. Their antiquity is stupendous, dating back some 36,000 years.

The writer is Thoth, an Atlantean Priest-King, who founded a colony in ancient Egypt after the sinking of the mother country. He was the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, erroneously attributed to Cheops. In it he incorporated his knowledge of the ancient wisdom and also securely secreted records and instruments of ancient Atlantis.

Misleading and disingenuous scifi loosely based on Hermiticism

PLEASE NOTE

The author of this book did not actually see the historical tablet (singular). This story is allegedly the result of a "channelled viewing" in which he claims to have viewed the numerous "tablets" (plural) in the astral realm. He changed his story to this when he was pressed that he never actually went to Giza via checking against his passport.

Nowhere in recorded history is there mentioned numerous tablets. There was allegedly a single tablet found by Apollonius of Tyana in the 8th century, his transcription of the tablets contents was later translated from Greek to Arabic in the 11th century and subsequently others in the west in later centuries. The tablet was lost and there are as many takes on it's whereabouts as there are people with takes.

This book is not representative of the Emerald Tablet.

This is science fiction framed as truth for profit. It is disingenuous in nature and misleading to anyone on the hermetic journey.

To me, it seems this author hijacked the popularity of the occult movement in the early 20th century to sell his heavily borrowed story. It has far too many parralells to that of other "trust me bro" prophets who sprinkle in historical figures, idioms and artifacts to their works to give it an air of legitimacy.

It covers the usual fear mongering cult works... reptillian overlords, a battle of light versus dark, a doomsday prophecy etc etc.. It has been said that for this book he appropriated passages from The Necronomicon by H.P Lovecraft in putting this together, who he was known to be a fan of. I was not surprised to find the author formed "The brotherhood of the white temple" after writing this, and the claims of fraudulance against him are, well... it's worth the cursory search to be informed.

If you're looking to learn of the actual storybof Thoth/Hermes and introduction to hermetic philosophy, don't be mislead by this. The Corpus Hermticum would be a wonderful place to start if you're interested in the topic.

I know, I wish there was more available historical information too, we can thank the church and human nature for this. But the absense of authentic historical accounts on the emerald tablet (singular) is exactly why this type of opportunistic trickery exists.

Other than that cool story i guess...

Awesome teachings but..

I loved the content - the teachings. The narration turned me away. I found it difficult to listen to. He reminded me of the song titled "Cows with guns". I was looking forward to the teachings.
