Publisher's Summary
High Pressure is a gripping stand-alone thriller from the number one best-selling author of Little Bones and The Dark Room, Sam Blake.
As temperatures soar across Europe during the hottest summer for 40 years, a series of hoax terrorist attacks is generating panic in London. Then a bus blows up on Oxford Street, and the hoaxes have suddenly become real.
Student Brioni O’Brien has been desperately trying to contact her older sister since she unexpectedly returned early from travelling, so when Marissa’s bag is found near the site of the explosion, she fears the worst.
Teaming up with terrorism expert Anna Lockharte to search for Marissa, Brioni discovers that her sister got herself into a very dangerous situation - and now she and Anna could be caught in the fallout.
Critic Reviews
"Blake's strength lies in her ability to combine tough and memorable characters with a deliciously complex and fast-moving plot that never wanes." (Sunday Independent)

easy listen
I've really enjoyed the connection between Sam Blake's books, with characters popping up in different books. Aoife is fantastic, as always.

Story falls short
Narrator is amazing - have downloaded many books due to having her as the performance artist. Unfortunately while listening to the story I had many an eye roll at how utterly stupid the characters were. Found them completely frustrating. An easy listen but don’t expect it to blow your mind
