Publisher's Summary
Charles Preston Carmichael is the most infuriating man I've ever met.
I want to sock the golden boy of college hockey right in the mouth. He enjoys telling me everything I'm messing up—publicly. And since he's my roommate for the next year, I can't avoid him.
Yet there's something about him that makes me watch him. Something dark. A secret I want to uncover.
When he returns from a weekend away, broken and haunted, I can't keep my distance anymore. He needs someone, and I'll be damned if it's not me.
Soon my life no longer revolves around hockey but the nightmares he's living with. Desperately, I want to save him, but I can't. Only he can save himself.
Can I watch him destroy himself as he tries to hold tight to the things that matter, or will I be the final hit in the destruction of his life?
Hidden Scars is an MM enemies-to-lovers hockey romance with a jealous f*ck buddy and plenty of heat.

Intense, trigger warnings
There are some pretty intense themes of abuse and cutting.
this is still a good book overall but not just a fluffy romance.

Broken & beautiful
I really enjoyed this. Hurt/comfort MM romance with hockey, trauma & lots of rough spiciness! Beautiful character development and just a sweet story with a well earned HEA. Narration was perfect!

Teddy Hamilton does emotions so well.
These was a beautiful story that pulled on all the heart strings. It does come with a trigger warning of abuse from a trusted family member, who is a medical professional. In saying that, if you can handle listening to trauma scenes there is one scene that skims over it, and one scene that we hear what actually happens, throughout we also see mental manipulation. Largely the book deals with the emotional implications of dealing with trauma, and how always being put down effects your self esteem and causes constant doubt and acceptance of anything positive. There is a beautiful love story between Jeremy and Preston - (both pro ice hockey players), which helps pull him through the dark times and out the other side with a HEA.
100% acknowledgment to Teddy Hamilton who does the narrating so well, that you feel all the emotions and the mental struggles going on in Preston’s head as he battles through.
A powerful story, but also coupled with some smiling moments and spicy bedroom scenes.

Trigger warning required
Wow! what a story. As someone who has experienced DV I really struggled with parts of there journey to love, however, did not take away from how much I loved this book, only added to it.

Hidden Scars
Ok *deep breath* that was a LOT! Hidden Scars was my first Andi Jaxon book, I’m certain it won’t be my last, since it really was incredible, I think I’ll wait a while though 😮💨😆
From the prologue, I knew I was in for a story with some weight to it. The subject matter was difficult to read at times, but it was written with care and didn’t feel gratuitous. I imagine it’s a delicate balance to write such a gripping drama with a sexy romance, but Andi pulled it off.
Preston and Jeremy navigate a difficult relationship, going from enemies to lovers, and yes, things turn spicy, (tattoos anyone?) Ultimately it’s a story of found family, and finding love and self worth.
I would definitely recommend, check out any trigger warnings, and look forward to the HEA.

Be aware of triggers
I enjoyed this, it’s a bit different to what I would normally listen to but I’m glad I did.
Be aware of physical abuse triggers (not between the MCs) as there are some descriptive moments and psychological abuse is also present.
The patience and love (and HEA) makes it a worthwhile story.

TRIGGER WARNINGS!
This story needed trigger warnings before the first chapter. Abuse, torture, manipulation, suicide just to name a few. Very heavy content.
The romance side of the book was awesome. Their enemies to lovers' storyline was hot. Spicy and kinky, I loved Jeremy and Preston getting together.
Preston's family storyline was full on and felt out of place in a sports romance. It was so heavy, horrible and sad that it didn't feel like a romance book at all anymore, more a horror or dark romance.
Performance was incredible as it always is from Teddy Hamilton and Iggy Toma.
