About this listen
Power is returning to the world after millennia, ancient constructs are stirring back to life, and one man is doing his best to ignore all that noise.
Fischer has everything he needs in life: blossoming friendships, a menagerie of cute animal companions, a waterfront property with easy access to fishing, and enough coffee to take out a small elephant or a really big dog.
Unfortunately, Fischer can’t catch a break. Cosmic forces? Still throwing curveballs. The bigwigs in the capital? Starting to sniff around his business. Cults? Still culting. Plus, awakened beings are washing up on his shores like flotsam after a storm. And worst of all? His coffee guy ghosted him!
It’s a lot for one heretical fisherman to handle. Thankfully, Fischer isn’t alone. Between his trusty guard crab, a mischievous otter who can wreathe herself in lightning, and an adorable bunny eager to solve every problem with a roundhouse kick, he’ll be just fine . . . probably.
The second volume of the laugh-out-loud LitRPG adventure series—a #1 Rising Star on Royal Road with more than three million views—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

“I can’t think of a single story I’d rather get truck-kun’d (truck-kunned?) into than [that of] the vivid, lush world portrayed in Heretical Fishing, especially if I can hang out with Fischer and his gang. . . . The best book I’ve read this year.” —Matt Dinniman, author of Dungeon Crawler Carl

Good fun
Nice, light fun, it avoids the constant stat updates with a nice twist to the system. It's ts not action packed but the pacing keeps you engaged. I'm looking forward to the next book!

Fantasy Dream
I enjoy how Haylock’s storytelling is true to the characters he is developing. The cadence of the narrative ebbs and flows to match each individual. The MC’s story cadence matches his desire to enjoy life and others push the story forward at a greater pace in line with their personalities and agenda.

wasn't ready for it to end
a real slice of life xianxia cultivation without all the cultivator drama that usually takes up 12 books of fighting for natural treasures and posturing.
just a group of friends that like fishing doing what they need to do to protect their little slice of heaven. it's nice, it's fun. it's good easy listening.
