About this listen

If you knew when you were going to die, what would you do differently?

It all begins on a flight from Hobart to Sydney. The flight will be smooth. It will land safely. Everyone who gets on the plane will get off the plane.

But almost all of them will be changed forever.

Because on this ordinary flight, something extraordinary happens. 'A lady', unremarkable until she isn't, predicts how and when many of the passengers are going to die. For some, death is far in the future; for others, it is very close.

A brilliantly constructed story that looks at free will and destiny, grief and love, and the endless struggle to maintain certainty and control in an uncertain world. Liane Moriarty is a modern-day Jane Austen who humorously skewers social mores while spinning a web of mystery and asking profound, universal questions.

'Liane Moriarty is a genuine GENIUS. Here One Moment is off the scale brilliant' Marian Keyes

Editorial Review

Liane Moriarty always keeps me guessing
Between character, setting and plot, I’m pretty much always a character person. And while the characters in Here One Moment are each fascinating and complex in their own right, I was blown away by Liane Moriarty’s plotting. The narrative is so intricately layered, each detail so carefully placed, that it left me awestruck. Our central character, Cherry, is on a flight when she stands up and proceeds to predict the age of death and cause of death for the passengers on-board. What unfolds from there is a riveting and chaotic meditation on free will versus fate as the passengers deal with the predictions in different ways once back in their real lives. It’s a compulsive listen, performed by Moriarty’s longtime collaborator Caroline Lee as Cherry and Geraldine Hakewell as the other passengers, and one I will be recommending for the rest of the year. — Katie O., Audible Editor

I loved every moment

LM, you are a genius. The way you see people and then write them is incredible. I always love your narrators, but this combo was simply exquisite. I could listen to Geraldine talk all day long.
A stunning book with many lovable characters who I simply didn’t want to say goodbye to.

Another Triumph

I absolutely adore Liane Moriarty’s books - I have read/listened to most of them and this one is up there with them all, the performance by the 2 narrators was fantastic, the characters were interesting and relatable, the story is unexpected and makes you reflect on what’s important in life. Highly recommend this book.

Outstanding

Moriarty is a master observer of human nature in all their idiosyncrasies.
Wonderfully narrated.
Loved the slowly woven web of the story with the rich characters and the themes of love, destiny, and death.
It made me laugh out loud and cry with my own relatable grief.
It was a joy to listen to.
