A modern Sci-Fi classic

Helsreach remains one of the best stories told about war as it impacts the Human (and Superhuman) condition.

Dembski-Bowden is able to Navigate the complexities of the unmatched Grimdark universe. The story is thrilling. Interesting and poignant in perfect balance.

Well acted by the ever excellent Jonathan Keeble this is a must for any 40K lore hound or new initiate alike I strongly recommend this audiobook.

the book was fantastic, the performance of the characters just as much, and the story was well timed and not drawn out in any part really

Fantastic story, fantastic performance.

ADB is one of the best writers in WH and the story of Grimaldus is easily one of the best in the universe.
Coupled with a fantastic reading by Jonathan Keeble, this is definitely one of the best WH40k books there is, and a fantastic audio book in turn.

Yes it is that good

This is a good story of war and I am still trying to let it settle into my thoughts.
While not really liking the Templars I enjoyed the story of the war and how it went from the build up to the aftermath.
I can see why it is considered a must read for 40K fans

Awesome 40K novel

The black templars are awesome, black templars vs orks is such a good combination for a 40K book.

This is definitely the best 40K novel I’ve come across.

The story is great, the characters are clear and the book is also really unexpectedly funny in places from the black templar POV.
